I guess I don’t understand that one. If someone came up with, for some political motive, a new, made-up, different version of the Periodic Table, nobody would think that that rendered Mendeleev a political figure or the Periodic Table a matter of opinion.
But for some reason, entire parties can just decide not to believe Smith, Ricardo, Schumpter, Say – and they think that thereby, they render these men and their discoveries political thereby subjective.
Economics isn’t conservative, it isn’t liberal, it’s just economics. It’s the way the world works. You might wish it worked another way but that doesn’t mean the way it really does work is somehow subjective.
